North Beach is a neighborhood between fisherman’s wharf and Chinatown. Italians originally occupied this neighborhood if you look back at the history. Due to this, the neighborhood is sometimes referred to as Little Italy. In the 1850s, Latin quarters settled here and later on joined by the Italian Americans. North Beach is currently cosmopolitan and legendary nightlife, architecture, Italian restaurants, and hip-hop cultures still exist. There are so many events to do on North Beach. Visit pier39

Pier39 has dozens of sites and tastes to explore. You can visit the pier for food, 7D, and a magnificent view of the bay area. It is home to more than 14 restaurants, and all of them are packed with seafood. Have a taste of their fresh and most delicious meals. The meals here are affordable, and you get a chance to view the golden gate while enjoying your meal.

Do not miss out on the street dances and performances conducted by talented artists throughout the day. Be entertained by magicians, jugglers, and comedians. Surprisingly, the show is free, and tickets are not required. Just carry with you a camera and take shots of the moments.

Have a cup of coffee at Caffe Trieste

It is said to be one of the most charming cafes in north beach. It was the first espresso house and most known by the Americans. Caffe Trieste was opened in 1956 and still has maintained its original atmosphere in terms of coffee quality. The café is well known by some famous writers and artists such as Jack Kerouch, Allan watts, etc. maybe you might not have an idea of The Godfather. It is a screenplay written by Ford Coppola, and an interesting fact about it is that he wrote the screenplay sitting right here at Caffe Trieste. If you love live music, this is your place because the Caffe usually plays live music on Saturdays.

Enjoy a meal at Comstock saloon

Comstock saloon is one of the oldest eateries at north beach. It was opened in 1907. You cannot afford to miss old school interior decoration, which is finished with wooden booths. The bartenders are smartly dressed and ready to serve you with your favorite cocktail. It is always a happy hour at Comstock saloon coupled with live jazz every night.

Experience a fantastic view on top of Coit tower

It was completed in 1933. It is an icon of San Francisco, and it allows you to view the bay area at a 360 degrees angle. You can climb the elevator to the top of the building and have a panoramic view of the neighborhood.

Buy a book at city lights bookstores

City light has turned out to be a tourist destination.  Tourists worldwide do visit this unique bookshop as it holds significant memories of the Beat movement. If you are new to North Beach, make sure you buy a book or two and carry them as souvenirs.
