Park's and recreation in Pacific Heights

Quite a handful of parks are located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, offering plenty of areas to walk through. There are two major parks and an adjacent one to the area. The Alta Plaza Park has beautiful views from the steep hillside.  This has created it as a perfect spot for picnics for families living here as well as a good playing ground at the top. On the grassy lawns are tennis courts and an off-leash dog playground at Lafayette Park. With only a few blocks between them, these facilities give residents some space to enjoy the views of historical places such as the Golden Gate Bridge. Towards the Marina is lovely beaches with a huge leisure field. The steps at Lyon descend between the Presidio and amazing houses making a good exercise spot.  The Presidio which is formerly an army base offers restaurants, event space, and performing theater among others.
